GRLG at 6th Assault in Zaragoza

From September 26th to 30th 2011 several members of GRL Germany had the chance to be part of this years International Urban Art Festival „Sexto Asalto„!

Based in the City of Zaragoza in central Spain, graffiti artists from all over Europe and Spain were invited to do walls in the old-town. Graffiti Research Lab Germany was represented with a talk, two workshops (Creative Code and GML) a hand full of mushroom Throwies, the launch of bombIR 2.0 and of course a night out with blitzTag. Here some pictures from a truly inspiring, busy and VERY sunny week!

Light Rider in Marzahn

Mobile-Sewing-Unit

At August 5th the Light Rider had yet another chance to prove its awesomeness even without light. Thea (näh & werk studio) and C3MY (yarn throwies) loaded the Light Rider with a sewing machine, chairs, mats and materials and rode it to Alexanderplatz. At the spot we set up our small open air sewing workshop including an old Singer sewing machine powered by the Light Riders batteries. Accompanied by music from the bikes sound system a dozen kids and grown-ups joined in in sewing mushroom and monster shaped yarn throwies for the rest of the afternoon.

Light Rider Out again!

This weekend we spontaneously had the chance to bring out the Light Rider yet one more time to the beloved neighbourhood of Neukölln Karl-Marx-Str. Thanks to all who passed by and wrote with us!

That was Light Rider night #4

Thank you to all the brave and awesome people out there who made it to our last event despite of rain and cold last Friday! The crowd at our first spot got even big enough for the police to check out on us with three vans full of cops and dogs. However, they only helped us remembering that we had planned to move to a second spot anyway – what we did nicely on time.

Next Light Rider + blitzTag event Friday 22nd July

This Friday 22nd July we are bringing the Light Rider out to Berlin-Neukölln one more time. It will be the last chance to tag walls in this neighbourhood using blitzTag for the next couple of weeks. If you have missed our previous events along Karl-Marx-Straße make sure you come along this time! There is even two meeting points this time:

from 22:30h, Karl-Marx-Straße 110 (U-Bahn: Karl-Marx-Straße)

from 00:15h, Karl-Marx-Str. 231-235 (S-Bahn Neukölln)

Light Rider night #3

Friday night we went out with the Light Rider for the third time to light-bomb walls along Berlin-Neuköllns busy main street Karl-Marx-Straße. Thank you to all of you who came along, stopped by, wrote with us and created new styles!

GRL Germany on the road

Hey there! Four members of GRL Germany are currently residing in Vigo, Spain. We are invited here by the Festival Vigo Transforma to create a 1000 LED Throwie intervention and present blitzTag on Friday und Saturday evening. We arrived yesterday. Here some pics to illustrate our trip:

Light Rider + blitzTag Night #2

Thank you to everyone who joined us for our second action with the Light Rider last Friday. We were very happy to see already a small crowd of around 20 people waiting for us when we got to the meeting point by Reuterstr. Here a few pictures:

Our next events along Karl-Marx-Straße in Berlin-Neukölln will happen on the 15th and 22nd of July! Meeting point and time will be announced shortly before.
